Job summary

Academics is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for a fast-paced specialist school setting in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. The role is term-time only with a daily rate of £90-£105 (DOE), and hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Start date ASAP.

You will support learners with SEN through 1:1 and small-group interventions, promoting a safe, encouraging classroom environment. You will contribute to personalised learning plans, work with a skilled team, and help students reach their potential

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential.
• A genuine passion for helping children with SEN succeed.
• A willingness to learn and take on training opportunities.
• An enhanced DBS check (Or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Supporting learners in a classroom environment, on a 1:1 basis, and in targeted intervention groups to support their learning and personal development needs.
• Help with creating a safe and encouraging environment to help the learners you are supporting thrive.
• Assisting with learning and specific interventions to support social and emotional progress.
• Monitoring achievements and helping students reach their full potential inside and outside the classroom.
• Ensuring safeguarding policies are followed at all times.
• Mentor learners so that they are able to express themselves in a safe and controlled way.
