Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is actively seeking dedicated SEN Support Assistants to join a partner SEN school in Chorley on a full-time, 5-day-a-week schedule with an immediate start. The role focuses on providing targeted support to students with autism, SLD, and SEMH needs.

You will work 1-to-1 and in small groups, assist teachers with delivering tailored lessons, and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment while supporting positive behaviour strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
• Demonstrates resilience, patience and empathy in education.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Availability to work Monday–Friday on a full-time basis, ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-to-1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs.
• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging, tailored lessons and activities.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Help manage student behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.
• Track student progress and assist with daily classroom organisation.
