Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an urgent Primary SEN Teaching Assistant for an immediate start in a nurturing specialist school in Lancashire. You will support children aged 2-11 with a range of SEN, delivering an adaptive curriculum and creating engaging, sensory-rich learning spaces.

Ideal candidates have a background in childcare, SEN support, or education and are available to start straight away for an immediate interview. A current Enhanced DBS is required or in process.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Early Years, or primary education.

Responsibilities

• Assist young children aged 2-11 with diverse SEN across daily classroom activities.
• Help deliver a tailored, adaptive curriculum and set up engaging spaces for pupil participation.
• Support alternative communication methods, emotional regulation, and positive social interaction strategies.
• Provide pastoral care and assist with daily routines with warmth and dignity.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to track progress and EHCP targets.
