Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking dedicated SEN Support Assistants to work full-time, five days a week, in a partner SEN school in Chorley, Lancashire. This role requires an immediate start to support students with autism, learning difficulties, and SEMH needs.

You will provide 1-to-1 and small group support, assist with tailored lessons, and help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom. Excellent PAYE rates, access to CPD training, and ongoing local consultant support are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Patient, empathetic approach to education.
• Enhanced DBS check registered with update service or willingness to obtain one immediately.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday on a full-time basis, ASAP.

Job Description Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistants to work on a full-time, 5-day-a-week basis within a partner Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Chorley. This role requires an immediate start to support students with diverse learning needs, including autism (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (SLD), and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1-to-1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs.

• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging, tailored lessons and activities.

• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

• Help manage student behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.

• Track student progress and assist with daily classroom organisation.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or care setting is highly desirable.

• A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach to education.

• A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to process one immediately through Tradewind).

• Availability to work Monday through Friday on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.
