Job summary

You will support pupils with SEMH and PLMD, 1:1 and small-group teaching, and work alongside the class teacher to foster a safe, engaging classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN settings, SEMH, PLMD, or related needs preferred.
• Transferable experience welcomed with the right attitude.
• Commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day.
• Helping pupils engage with lessons and classroom activities.
• Supporting children with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Encouraging positive behaviour through a calm and consistent approach.
• Helping pupils manage transitions and changes throughout the school day.
• Adapting activities and resources to make learning accessible.
• Promoting independence and encouraging pupils to develop their confidence.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and becoming a trusted member of the classroom team.
• Working closely with teachers and other school staff to support individual pupil needs.
