Job summary

Master Class Education is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Supply SEN/SEMH Teacher to work across SEN/SEMH settings on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and will be committed to creating a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience of working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH.
  • Good understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, caring and nurturing approach.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and changing circumstances.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Establish positive and supportive relationships with pupils.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, safe learning environment.
  • Follow individual education plans, support plans and other relevant documentation.
  • Work effectively with teaching assistants and other support staff.
  • Assess pupils' learning and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress where required.
  • Liaise professionally with colleagues and other members of the school's support team.
  • Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
  • Provide continuity of learning and routines when covering lessons or classes.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
