Job summary

GSL Education Hull Branch is seeking a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work across schools in Hull. You will support pupils with behavioural, SEN, SEMH and SEND needs, providing one-to-one and small-group assistance to promote positive behaviours and learning.

The role is temporary, full-time during term time, starting as soon as possible, with a compassionate, patient approach and strong communication required to work with teachers, support staff and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with behavioural, SEN, SEMH or SEND needs.
• Patience, resilience and calm approach when working with challenging situations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Up-to-date CV covering last 10 years with explanations for any gaps.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN, SEMH and SEND needs.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
• Support pupils to manage emotions, regulate behaviour and develop positive learning habits.
• Monitor pupils' behaviour, engagement and progress and share observations with teachers and staff.
