Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. in Whalley Range is actively recruiting an experienced Reception SEND Teaching Assistant to join after half term. You will support pupils with SEND in EYFS, delivering tailored 1:1 and small-group support and contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The role focuses on developing communication, independence and early learning skills, including phonics and play-based learning, while working closely with the class teacher and school team.

Qualifications

Experienced Reception SEND Teaching Assistant - Whalley Range | After Half Term Start

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in Whalley Range that is looking for an experienced and dedicated Reception SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team after half term.

The school is seeking a nurturing and proactive Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within an EYFS setting. The successful candidate will help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment, supporting pupils to develop their communication, independence and early learning skills.

The successful Reception SEND Teaching Assistant will:

• Have previous experience supporting children with SEND within Reception or EYFS.


• Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support to meet individual learning and developmental needs.


• Support children's communication, interaction, emotional regulation and social development.


• Assist with classroom activities, early phonics, communication and play-based learning.


• Use a patient, nurturing and consistent approach to supporting behaviour and engagement.


• Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to implement appropriate support strategies.


• Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements:

• Have previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, ideally within EYFS or Reception.


• Demonstrate a strong understanding of children's additional needs and individual learning differences.


• Be patient, adaptable and confident supporting pupils with a range of needs.


• Have the right to work in the UK.


• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.


• Provide suitable references covering recent experience.


• Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
