Job summary

Gloucester Academy for Inspirational Learning (GAIL) is seeking a dedicated Pupil Coach (SEN Teaching Assistant) to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support inside and outside the classroom.

You will contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment, implement IEPs, monitor progress and support wellbeing while building positive relationships with pupils and families in a brand-new school opening in 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
• Ability to support learning activities and adapt to individual pupil plans.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning, social and emotional needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging activities.
• Help implement IEPs, behaviour plans and personal care programmes.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and self-esteem.
• Monitor and record pupil progress.
• Support pupil wellbeing and first aid when required.
• Supervise pupils during lunchtimes and visits.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
