Job summary

Academics is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school team in Gloucester. You will work closely with teachers to support a wide range of pupils in learning, development and wellbeing, helping create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child can achieve their best.

The role involves supporting teachers, providing one-to-one and small group support to SEN pupils, and helping with resources and activities

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to work with children aged 4-11.
• Collaborative team player with colleagues and teachers.
• Reliable, organised and adaptable to duties and schedules.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with classroom activities and day-to-day learning.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to SEN pupils.
• Help children develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Assist with preparing classroom resources and activities.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs where required.
• Promote positive behaviour and love of learning.
• Supervise pupils during breaks and school activities.
• Contribute to wider life of the school.
