Job summary

Academics is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant in Gloucester to support children with special educational needs. You will work under teachers and the SENCo to implement personalised learning plans, promote inclusion, and adapt activities for individual needs.

This full-time role offers practical classroom experience and the chance to develop skills for careers in education, psychology, or child development in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

A caring, patient, and enthusiastic graduate with a genuine interest in SEN.
Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible, proactive, and adaptable approach.
Experience working with children or young people (formal or informal) is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

Support children with a range of SEN needs in 1:1 and group settings.
Assist with the implementation of personalised learning plans designed by the class teacher and SENCo.
Encourage inclusion, independence, and engagement among pupils
Adapt learning materials and activities to suit individual needs
Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and families to support student progress
