Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is partnering with a specialist SEN School in South Liverpool to recruit a dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs from early years to Year 6. The role is on-site, full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am to 3pm, in an inclusive environment.

You will work with teachers and senior staff, delivering tailored programmes to develop communication, independence and wellbeing, while promoting safety, safeguarding and a calm, collaborative classroom

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with SEND, especially in nursery or primary.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and ability to follow policies.
• Calm, patient, adaptable with excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND to access learning and develop life skills
• Implement individualised programmes including communication, regulation, and behaviour strategies
• Assist in both specialist provision and mainstream classrooms to support integrated learning
• Monitor transitions and unstructured periods to safeguard pupils
• Promote inclusion and resilience in the classroom
