Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a dedicated school community in Liverpool. This temporary role supports pupils with special educational needs in an inclusive, nurturing environment.

You will work with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging activities, monitor progress, and help maintain a safe, respectful learning environment while building strong relationships with children and families.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent)
• Experience working with children in education or childcare setting
• Enhanced DBS (required) and right to work in the UK
• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
• Resilient, flexible and professional approach

Responsibilities

• Support children with diverse learning and pastoral needs to ensure an inclusive classroom
• Assist with planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities
• Monitor and support children's progress and behaviour, reporting to the teacher as required
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, respectful learning environment
• Build strong relationships with children, staff and families to support wellbeing
• Work independently and as part of a wider team to meet pupil needs
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times
