Job summary

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for passionate and dedicated Primary SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team and support pupils across schools in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas. We are working with welcoming primary schools seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Qualifications

Experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary school setting.
Patient, empathetic and nurturing.
Confident supporting children on a 1:1 or small-group basis.
Able to adapt their approach to meet individual needs.
Passionate about helping children achieve their potential.
Reliable, professional and committed to making a positive difference.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
Work closely with teachers and SENDCOs to support individual learning plans.
Help pupils access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence.
Support children with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
Use a range of strategies to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Assist with classroom activities and general Teaching Assistant duties.
Promote an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment.
