Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the SEN Department at a Harrow college from September 2026. You will support learners with severe and complex needs to access learning and develop independence, working as part of a collaborative team.

This temporary role requires a suitable qualification, and DBS clearance will be necessary. The post involves working 4 or 5 days per week with typical hours 08:45–16:00, in Harrow.

• Care work or healthcare background is desirable.
• Manual Handling training is preferred.

Learning Support Assistant – SEN Department (Harrow)

A college in Harrow is seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join its SEN Department from September 2026.

The successful candidate will support learners with severe and complex needs, helping them to access learning and develop independence.

Essential qualities

• Caring, patient, and reliable approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to supporting learners with additional needs

Desirable experience and training

• Care work or healthcare background
• Experience supporting individuals with severe learning difficulties and/or disabilities
• Manual Handling training
• PEG Feeding training

Location and working pattern

• Location: Harrow
• Working pattern: 4 or 5 days per week
• Hours typically between 08:45/09:00 and 16:00/16:30

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
