Job summary

Fresh Start in Education is seeking a SEN Learning Support Assistant in Beccles, offering bank staff contracts with term-time sessions typically 3 to 5 hours. You will provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to learners in homes or community settings, delivering personalised sessions and monitoring progress to set achievable targets.

Experience with SEN and SEMH is essential; Makaton/PECS knowledge and safeguarding awareness are advantageous. Availability on a couple of weekdays is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Ability to support learners with diverse needs using personalised approaches.
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to children and young people in homes or community settings.
• Deliver personalised sessions reflecting each learner's needs and interests.
• Monitor progress and set achievable targets for development.
• Conduct risk assessments and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Work on bank staff contracts, term-time only, sessions 3–5 hours long.
