Job summary

Abbey Hill Academy and College, part of St Bart's Multi Academy Trust, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team to deliver specialist SEN support and assist with curriculum delivery. You will work under a teacher's supervision, providing short-term cover, PPA support and targeted learning activities for pupils with complex needs.

The role includes facilitating EHCP targets, liaising with external services where required, and contributing to a caring, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
• Ability to provide short-term classroom cover and PPA support.

Responsibilities

• Provide short term classroom cover (up to 3 days) for teacher absences.
• Provide PPA cover as required.
• Plan, prepare and deliver work to whole classes, groups or individuals.
• Assess, record and report pupil progress and attainment.
• Provide feedback to pupils on their progress.
• Supervise pupils in class, playground and dining areas.
• Escort pupils on educational activities.
• Deliver specialist SEN provision and adapt activities for individuals or small groups.
• Liaise with SALT/OT/Clinical psychology where required.
• Support pupil health, welfare and independence.
• Administer medication as per healthcare plans.
