Job summary

Stepney All Saints is seeking an exceptional teaching assistant to support students with special educational needs in an outstanding school. The LSA role covers individuals and small groups across the curriculum, including pupils aged 11–19 with EHCPs, under the supervision of teaching staff.

You will contribute to planning, monitor progress, support behaviour and social development, and assist with exams as a scribe.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with EHCPs.
• Ability to scribe in exams and literacy skills.
• Willingness to undertake First Aid Training.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals or small groups under supervision of teaching staff.
• Work with students away from the main classroom at times.
• Contribute to planning for individuals and groups.
• Monitor work and provide feedback to the teacher and contribute to record-keeping.
• Support students to understand instructions and support independent learning and inclusion.
• Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping students on task.
• Support students' social and emotional development.
• Organise the learning environment including producing, maintaining and storing resources and contribute to maintaining a safe environment.
• Scribe in exams and support literacy.
• Contribute to annual review feedback and update LSPs.
• Lead and help with planning on interventions supported by SALT/EP/Pheonix.
• Have experience in dealing with medical needs and undergo First Aid Training.
