Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking an Academic Learning Support Assistant to assist learners across courses from entry through level 3, including A levels and T levels, at Blackburn College sites, including the Launch Pad Centre in Blackburn Town Mall. You will join the Student Support and Engagement Team to deliver proactive learning support for students with SEN and disabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in education or care with learners who have learning disabilities or complex needs.
• Level 2 Maths and English or willingness to achieve within 1 year.
• Qualifications in learning support, care or education or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, proactive learning support for students with SEND.
• Support learners toward their chosen programmes and employment goals.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams to ensure opportunities to progress and develop independence.
• Promote positive behaviour, good attendance and strong attitudes to learning.
