Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking an Academic Learning Support Assistant to support learners with SEND across all sites, including dedicated spaces in Blackburn Town Mall. The role focuses on helping learners achieve their chosen programmes and long-term goals, developing positive behaviours and attendance, and promoting independent learning.

You will work with curriculum teams to ensure access to opportunities, progression, and inclusive education while supporting students to excel in their studies

Qualifications

• Experience in education or care with young people with SEND.
• Level 2 Maths and English or willingness to achieve within 1 year.
• Qualifications in learning support, care or education or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality learning support for students with SEND.
• Support learners toward their programme of study and employment aspirations.
• Collaborate with curriculum team to enable progress and equal opportunities.
