Job summary

The Phoenix Collegiate in West Bromwich is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (Level 2) to cover maternity leave. The role involves providing classroom support for students with speech, language and communication needs and helping them access the curriculum.

You will work 31.25 hours per week during term time plus five INSET days, with a Grade B salary and a Special Needs Allowance. The start date is ASAP, subject to clearances.

Qualifications

• GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
• Experience with children or young people in an education setting preferred.
• Ability to support learners with speech, language and communication needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support for students with speech, language and communication needs and social-emotional difficulties.
• Assist with personal learning plans and access to the national curriculum.
• Assist with assessment and recording of student progress.
• Supervise students on school trips/visits.
