Job summary

Uniform Education is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Harrow. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEN, delivering 1:1 and small-group assistance, and using PECS/Makaton to aid communication.

You'll work closely with the classroom team to adapt activities, promote independence, and foster inclusive learning in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is essential.
• Experience providing 1:1 and small-group support in a classroom setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
• Use PECS and Makaton to support communication and understanding.
• Deliver and support targeted interventions to address individual learning needs.
• Help pupils develop communication, social, emotional, and independence skills.
• Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement.
• Work with the class teacher, SENCO, and support team.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
