Job summary

Engage Education are currently recruiting SEN Learning Support Assistants to work with a range of supportive schools across Trafford and Manchester. This role focuses on 1:1 and small-group assistance for pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate in lessons.

We seek caring, resilient individuals with SEN/SEND experience who can work with teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP strategies and foster positive relationships, promoting student progress and

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEND.
• Experience in schools, specialist provision, PRU, care or youth work setting.
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to provide personalised support.
• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs and learning difficulties.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Assist with differentiated learning activities and interventions.
• Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual plans.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Encourage engagement and help pupils achieve their goals.
