Job summary

Long Term Futures in the NG17 area is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to work in a Special Educational Needs school. You will support pupils with autism and additional needs, providing structure, consistency and encouragement throughout the school day.

Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team, you will deliver small group and individual support, help with learning, engagement and emotional regulation, and use clear routines to help pupils feel settled.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with ASD and related needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to maintain clear expectations and boundaries.
• Reliable and committed to a long-term placement.
• Previous experience in schools or care for children with learning difficulties is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism and additional needs in SEN hubs.
• Provide small group and one-to-one support throughout the day.
• Assist learning, engagement and emotional regulation.
• Support routines, structure and consistency to help pupils feel settled.
• Assist pupils during lessons and structured activities.
• Support communication, social interaction and independence.
