Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 and in hubs with pupils who have Autism and additional needs. You will collaborate with the class teacher and SEN team to provide structure, consistency and encouragement throughout the school day.

The role focuses on emotional regulation, small group support and helping pupils engage with lessons using clear routines and supportive strategies. A long-term placement with weekly pay and CPD is offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with ASD and other needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to maintain clear expectations and boundaries.
  • Reliable and committed to a long-term placement.
  • Experience in schools, care, or SEN is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Autism and additional needs in SEN hubs and during activities.
  • Provide both small group and individual support throughout the day.
  • Support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation.
  • Use clear routines and consistent approaches to help pupils feel settled.
  • Assist pupils during lessons and structured activities.
  • Support communication, social interaction, and independence.
