Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in Rochdale to support students aged 11-16 with autism and challenging behaviour at a large specialist SEN secondary school. This full-time, long-term role offers daily pay and an immediate start.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEN, ASC / Autism or challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient, resilient and emotionally consistent.
• Team Teach Level 2 or equivalent behaviour/positive handling training desirable.
• TA qualification, Psychology/Education degree or relevant experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support across the school.
• Supporting students with Autism / ASC and challenging behaviour.
• Using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Helping students develop emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
• Supporting EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
• Building trusting, consistent relationships with students.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and wider SEN professionals.
• Maintaining a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
