Job summary

Shorefields is seeking a Learning Support Assistant with Midday duties to provide tailored 1-to-1 or small group support for students with special educational needs at our school in the UK. The role includes midday duties and requires collaboration with teachers, parents and external professionals.

The post is part-time (14.75 hours per week) on a fixed term basis until 31 August 2027, with safeguarding of children and enhanced DBS checks in place. Salary range pro-rata is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience and awareness of SEN, child development, and behaviour management.
• Ability to observe, assess, adapt learning needs, and report pupil progress.
• Strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1-to-1 or small group support for students with SEN.
• Adapt learning materials and implement EHCP targets.
• Manage behaviour and promote independence and inclusion.
• Prepare and manage learning resources and support classroom routines.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, staff and external professionals.
• Support pupil welfare, health, and supervision as needed.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, equality and confidentiality policies.
