Job summary

Horbury Academy is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Mentor to join our supportive team. The role focuses on delivering targeted interventions and pastoral support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning and develop confidence.

The post requires GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and strong organisational and interpersonal skills to work with pupils, families and outside agencies.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent).
• NVQ Level 3 or comparable experience.
• Knowledge of numeracy and literacy development techniques.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions to pupils needing extra support and track progress.
• Provide effective pastoral support to promote wellbeing and inclusion.
• Plan and lead tailored programmes for individuals and small groups.
• Support pupils to build confidence and resilience to access learning.
