Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment seeks dedicated SEN Learning Mentors to support pupils with additional needs in specialist and mainstream schools across Chigwell and surrounding areas. You’ll work 1:1 and in small groups to boost learning, engagement and personal development, while promoting emotional regulation and independence.

This full-time, term-time only role pays 90–120 per day. Hours are 8:30–16:00, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or learning difficulties is advantageous.
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach; strong listening skills.
• Ideal for aspiring teachers, educational psychologists or youth workers.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to boost learning and engagement.

• Assist teachers in creating inclusive learning environments.

SEN Learning Mentor

We're looking for dedicated SEN Learning Mentors to support pupils with additional needs in specialist and mainstream school settings. SEN Learning Mentor Role:

• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
• Working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning, engagement, and personal development
• Promoting emotional regulation, confidence, and independence
• Assisting teachers in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Building strong relationships with pupils to encourage progress and achievement

SEN Learning Mentor Requirements:

• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
• Patient, resilient, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
• Experience supporting SEN, SEMH, Autism or behavioural needs is advantageous
• Ideal for aspiring Teachers, Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, or Youth Workers
