Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in Sheffield is recruiting a High Needs Classroom Support Assistant for a specialist SEN school. You will support pupils with complex needs, provide 1:1 and small-group help, and assist with learning, communication and emotional regulation.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEN, complex needs or challenging behaviour.
• A calm, patient and genuinely nurturing approach.
• Strong resilience and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
• Comfortable in a demanding and sometimes unpredictable environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in education, care, residential support, healthcare or similar settings would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with high and complex needs within the classroom.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Supporting learning, communication and emotional regulation.
• Helping pupils manage challenging situations and behaviours.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Working closely with teachers and other specialist staff.
• Following individual support plans and behaviour strategies.
• Supporting pupils to develop independence and life skills.
