Job summary

Sencare Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an Education Support Worker for a special primary school in Poole, Dorset. Start ASAP, ongoing role five days a week. Hours are from 8:30am to 4:30pm, supporting pupils aged 4–11 with autism and SEMH, including some personal care tasks.

The role requires a DBS update service check, experience with ASD, PMLD, SEMH and trauma-informed approaches, and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with vulnerable students.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months experience supporting students with autism, SEMH, and related needs.
  • Experience supporting children aged 4–11 in a school setting.
  • Will provide personal care and support as required.
  • Clear DBS registered to the update service (child and adult checks).

Responsibilities

  • Support children with autism, SEMH and other needs in a special primary school environment.
  • Follow individual ECHPs and implement strategies to aid learning and engagement.
  • Build positive relationships with vulnerable students and support their routines.

About us:
  • will have at least 6 months experience supporting students with autism, social emotional mental health difficulties, some profound needs.
  • experience supporting students aged 4 - 11
  • will provide personal care
  • able to follow students ECHPs
  • experienced with ASD, PMLD, SEMH, trauma, sensory processing, and social communication teaching background
  • the ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
  • have a clear DBS registered to the update service - child and adult checked.
