Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council advertises an external vacancy for a Direct Payment Worker to support two brothers near Londesborough. This placement is not employment with the council and is funded via Direct Payments.

The successful candidate will help the children access activities, transport to social events, and provide emotional support in a calm, patient, person-centred manner. DBS checks are required; own car is advantageous.

• Be willing to learn about the children’s needs and approaches that work best for them.
• Be able to build a positive relationship with the individuals to build trust and a feeling of safety.
• Be flexible to accommodate the hours of work where necessary.
• Be able to work effectively alongside parent if required.
• Must have use of own car, to transport individual to social activities.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the individual with accessing activities and spending time out in the community.
• Attending/transporting the individual to social activities.
• Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
