East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a Direct Payment Worker to support a young person in Leconfield. You will assist with accessing activities, accompany to social events, and help foster social inclusion and emotional support.
The role requires a motivated, patient and proactive individual with strong communication skills, the ability to work on your own initiative, and flexibility to cover varying hours. DBS clearance will be required.

The individual is male and resides in Leconfield.
He is an active and sociable young person who enjoys a range of leisure activities, including playing football, riding his bike, and visiting places such as the farm and the zoo. He has a keen interest in animals, particularly monkeys, and enjoys talking about them. In school, he shows a particular interest in Maths. He also enjoys spending time at home playing games with friends on his Xbox or tablet, as well as watching wrestling and playing card games such as UNO.
He benefits from using sensory strategies, including stimming, to help regulate his emotions and feel more comfortable.
He can be sensitive to certain sensory experiences. For example, loud or busy environments may feel overwhelming for him, and he may need support to manage this. He also prefers familiar routines, such as sitting in a consistent place when eating, and may have sensitivities to certain textures, including some foods and materials.

Children and Young People, Specialist Services Direct Payments is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council to support families of Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to fulfil their potential and aspirations.
Whilst caring experience is always useful, you don’t necessarily need to have worked in care to be a great Direct Payment Worker, the right attitude and a person-centred approach is more important.
Some travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required, applicants must be able to transport themselves.
