Job summary

Justteachers Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision just outside Newark. The role starts in September and requires a driver with access to a vehicle. You will support pupils with complex needs, including autism and severe learning difficulties, in a rural setting.

Candidates should have experience in specialist education, excellent communication, and a patient, resilient approach to behaviour management, working closely with teachers and therapists.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN settings is essential.
• Ability to support pupils with complex needs and behaviours.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEN
• Deliver highly differentiated learning activities
• Assist with managing challenging behaviour using positive strategies
• Support pupils' communication, social and emotional development
• Promote independence, engagement and routine
• Work with teachers, therapists and other staff
• Assist with personal care where required
• Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
