Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a resilient SEN Classroom Support Assistant in Bridgend to help pupils aged 3-19 with Autism and additional needs. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, enabling access to the curriculum and personalised interventions.

The role involves mobility, sensory, and behavioural support in a well-supported school with strong staffing ratios and a nurturing environment. Contract for the full academic year, 8:30am–3:30pm, at £92.63 per day.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or individuals with SEN, or transferable care/youth support experience.
• Must be 18+ years old and eligible to work in the UK.
• EWC registration or willingness to obtain it.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain.
• Level 2 Safeguarding training.
• Two professional references covering 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with SEN/ALN and challenging behaviours.
• Deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group support.
• Help pupils access the curriculum through personalised interventions.
• Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Promote engagement, confidence and emotional development.
• Assist with mobility, sensory and physical support needs.
