Job summary

St Comgall's Primary School Bangor is seeking a part-time Classroom Assistant (SEN) to support pupils with additional needs. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and Education Authority to enable inclusive access to the curriculum, assist with personal care and behaviour support, and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant area.
• Minimum 6 weeks experience in a formal learning environment or 12 months' experience in a formal setting.
• Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety requirements and safeguarding duties.
• Ability to plan, organise and adapt activities to support pupil learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the support and care of pupils with special educational needs.
• Support inclusion and participation in main stream classes under supervision.
• Assist with personal care, behavioural management, and moving pupils around the school.
• Help prepare resources and maintain a safe learning environment.
