Job summary

Polaris Education is seeking an SEN Class Teacher for Burnley School to deliver high-quality lessons under the national curriculum, addressing the SEMH needs of pupils aged 5 to 18. The role emphasizes creating a safe, supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum while addressing SEMH needs.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Report on pupil progress and liaise with school staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom times including activities and trips.
• Build positive pupil relationships to drive learning outcomes.

Salary: £28,000 - £39,520

Contract: Full Time, Term time only

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Reporting on pupils progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils needs are met
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips
• Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes

Requirements

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
• Have a strong basic education to degree level
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in EYFS
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn
• Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work
