Job summary

TP Tutors in Birmingham is seeking a SEN & Behaviour Specialist 1:1 Tutor to support learners of all ages across Birmingham and surrounding areas. Sessions may take place at learners’ homes, schools or community venues during school hours.

This role offers flexible part-time and full-time opportunities, with competitive pay and ongoing assignments to help learners build confidence and progress. Travel between locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience with SEND and/or behavioural needs.
• Experience working with learners across one or more age groups.
• Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and learning strategies.
• Experience using positive behaviour support and appropriate de-escalation strategies.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to travel reliably between tuition locations.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition and learning support.
• Support learners across different ages, abilities and educational stages.
• Plan and deliver sessions based on individual learning needs and objectives.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support a range of SEND needs.
• Provide appropriate behavioural support and positive behaviour strategies.
• Help learners develop emotional regulation, confidence, resilience and independence.
• Use differentiated and individualised approaches to promote engagement.
• Monitor learner progress and complete session reports.
• Build positive relationships with learners, families, schools and relevant professionals.
• Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and personal development.
• Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
