Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support students with additional learning needs in Cheshire, within our school spaces on the grounds. You will help students access the curriculum, develop independence, and build confidence in a supportive environment.

The role involves one-to-one or small group support, implementing learning plans, and collaborating with staff to monitor progress and report outcomes. A calm, empathetic approach and enhanced DBS clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people, ideally within an educational setting.
• Knowledge or experience of supporting students with Autism and other learning needs is desirable, particularly in an Autism-friendly environment.
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A positive attitude towards inclusivity and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential.
• An enhanced DBS check is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one or small group support for students with special educational needs.
• Assisting with the implementation of individual learning plans to help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Supporting students in developing social and emotional skills within a calm, structured environment.
• Collaborating with teaching staff to ensure the best outcomes for all students.
• Monitoring student progress and reporting on achievements, providing feedback to students and teachers.
