Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment in the UK is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to support pupils aged 5-19 with SLD and PMLD in a specialist SEN school.

The role is full-time term-time, based in Chigwell, Essex, with an 8:00–16:00 schedule and daily pay of £90–£110, DOE; you will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with personalised programmes, and work with teachers and therapists to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for supporting children with complex learning needs.
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach.
• Experience with SLD and/or PMLD desirable.
• Experience with personal care, manual handling or sensory support preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with children, young people or vulnerable adults desirable.
• Ideal for aspiring SEN teachers, educational psychologists, SLTs, occupational therapists, or health & social care professionals.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning and care needs.
• Assist with personalised learning programmes, care plans and sensory activities.
• Support communication, engagement, emotional regulation and independence.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
