Job summary

FirstGroup plc seeks a Semi-Skilled Mechanic at Dumbarton Depot. 38 hours per week, Mon-Fri 6am-2pm, hourly rate £13.51. You must hold a valid UK driving license to be considered for this role.

Join our team to learn from engineers and maintenance staff, keeping our fleet in top condition. As a Semi-Skilled Mechanic you will replace oils and filters, carry out servicing checks, fuel and shunt vehicles, and record details of work done.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK driving license to be considered.
• Interest in mechanics with potential SVQ Level 2 development.
• Commitment to learning and developing mechanical skills within a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Replacing vehicle oils and filters.
• General servicing and maintenance checks on vehicles, reporting defects.
• Fuelling/charging and shunting vehicles around the depot.
• Carrying out under-chassis washing and interior cleaning.
• Recording details of work done on sheets/record cards.

Location:Dumbarton Depot, Birch Road G82 2RE

Contracted Hours:38 hours per week - full time & permanent

Working Hours: Mon-Fri 6am-2pm

Hourly Rate:£13.51 per hour

Join our energetic team of Engineers, and Maintenance staff who keep our fleet in top condition at First Bus across Glasgow. If you have an interest in mechanics, perhaps a Level 2 SVQ, this role could be a great starting point for you, working alongside our engineering team to learn and develop your existing skills.

As aSemi-Skilled Mechanic, you'll play a vital role in making sureour vehicles are ready to hit the road each day at our Dumbartondepot.

For helping keep our fleet on the road, you'll earn a good hourly payrate and great rewards & benefits (see below).

Key Responsibilities:

• Replacing vehicle oils and filters
• General servicing and maintenance checks on vehicles, reporting any visible defects to Engineers
• Fuelling/charging and shunting vehicles around the depot ready for shift or next clean
• Carry out vehicle under chassis washing, including exterior cleaning using a pressure washer and internal cleaning
• To record details of all work done and accurately complete any necessary sheets/record cards
