Job summary

FirstGroup plc is seeking a General Service Operative at the Dumbarton Depot to keep vehicles ready for service. The role is full-time (38 hours/week), with shifts Monday to Friday from 6am to 2pm and an hourly rate of £13.51. You will work alongside cleaners, engineers and maintenance staff to maintain fleet readiness.

A valid UK driving license is required, and background checks and right-to-work verification will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

• Replacing vehicle oils and filters (full training provided as required).
• Fuelling/charging and shunting vehicles around the depot ready for shift or next clean.
• Carrying out vehicle under chassis washing, including exterior cleaning with a pressure washer and interior cleaning.
• Record details of all work and complete sheets/record cards accurately.

Join our energetic team of Cleaners, Engineers, and Maintenance staff who keep our fleet in top condition at First Bus across Glasgow. If you have an interest in mechanics, this role could be a great starting point for you, working alongside our engineering team.

As a General Service Operator , you’ll play a vital role in making sureour vehicles are ready to hit the road each day at our Dumbarton depot.

For helping keep our fleet on the road, you’ll earn a good hourly payrate and great rewards & benefits (see below).
