Job summary

First Bus is recruiting a General Service Operative for the Dumbarton depot. The role covers oils/filters, fueling, shunting, and cleaning duties to ensure our fleet is ready each day.

You'll work 38 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 6am-2pm) on a full-time, permanent basis. A valid UK driving licence is required, with training and a competitive hourly rate plus benefits.

Position: General Service Operative

Location: Dumbarton Depot, Birch Road G82 2RE

Contracted Hours: 38 hours per week - full time & permanent

Working Hours: Mon-Fri 6am-2pm

Hourly Rate: £13.51 per hour

You must hold a valid UK driving license to be considered for this role

Join our energetic team of Cleaners, Engineers, and Maintenance staff who keep our fleet in top condition at First Bus across Glasgow. If you have an interest in mechanics, this role could be a great starting point for you, working alongside our engineering team.

As aGeneral Service Operator, you'll play a vital role in making sureour vehicles are ready to hit the road each day at our Dumbartondepot.

For helping keep our fleet on the road, you'll earn a good hourly payrate and great rewards & benefits (see below).

Key Responsibilities:

• Replacing vehicle oils and filters (full training will be provided if required)

• Fuelling/charging and shunting vehicles around the depot ready for shift or next clean

• Carry out vehicle under chassis washing, including exterior cleaning using a pressure washer and internal cleaning

• To record details of all work done and accurately complete any necessary sheets/record cards
