Job summary

White Trees is an independent school dedicated to supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The Tutor role involves planning and delivering adapted lessons, and supporting behaviour with calm, relational, and therapeutic approaches.

You will monitor wellbeing and safeguarding concerns, work with SENCO, therapists, social workers and families, and help create a safe, structured classroom. Reporting progress and using data to set targets are key parts of the job.

Qualifications

• Desirable experience with needs including ASD/SEMH/SEN.
• Experience planning adapted lessons for SEMH/SEN.
• Ability to support safeguarding and wellbeing in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver adapted lessons for SEMH/SEN pupils.
• Support behaviour using calm, relational and therapeutic approaches.
• Monitor wellbeing and safeguarding concerns and act accordingly.
• Collaborate with SENCO, therapists, social workers and families.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
• Record pupil attainment and progress in the school reporting system.
• Use data to set aspirational targets and plan challenging activities.
