Job summary

Forest Moor School, part of Wellspring Academy Trust near Harrogate, is seeking a General Teaching Assistant. You will support learning, behaviour and wellbeing under teaching staff, in a nurturing SEMH setting with small class sizes and a strong ethos of positive relationships.

The role involves 1:1 or small-group support, assisting with learning activities, and helping pupils access the curriculum with a focus on emotional resilience and social development.

Qualifications

• Experience with children in a learning environment.
• NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• Teamwork and adaptability in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

• Learning and behaviour support in classroom with pre-planned activities.
• Observation and feedback to support planning and pupil progress.
• Academic and pastoral support for social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
• Escort and supervise pupils on educational visits and break times.
• Prepare learning areas and basic ICT tasks; clerical duties as needed.
• Monitor tests and ensure compliance with exam regulations.
