Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd in Chorley is seeking a SEMH Tutor to support Maths and English learning for students unable to attend mainstream education. You will work 1:1 with learners with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them access education and build confidence.

Sessions can be arranged between 1 and 5 hours per day, during or after school, with a long-term commitment to provide consistency and progress toward learning goals.

Qualifications

• A teaching qualification.
• Experience of working with students with EHCPs.
• Ability to plan and deliver Maths and English sessions.
• Passion for making a difference to the lives of young people.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths and English to students unable to attend education on a 1:1 basis in Chorley.
• Deliver sessions of 1–5 hours per day during or after school, as needed.
• Plan sessions to meet EHCP goals and monitor progress.

SEMH Tutor (Full Time or Part Time - Temporary opportunities)

Chorley

£30 per hour (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

January 2027 start

The Role

Vision for Education are looking for a SEMH Tutor who can teach Maths & English to students unable to attend education in Chorley. The desired SEMH Tutor will be working 1:1 with students with social emotional and mental health needs and emotional based school refusal. The Tutor role is long term to provide consistency for students and work towards breaking down barriers to learning. Sessions can be one - five hours per day (during or after school hours) depending on the student's needs.

Requirements

The desired SEMH Tutor will have:

• A teaching qualification
• Experience of working with students with EHCPs
• An ability to plan and deliver Maths and English sessions
• A passion for making a difference to the lives of young people
