Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd. is seeking an SEMH Tutor in Stockport to teach Maths and English to students unable to attend education. The role involves 1:1 support with SEMH needs and emotional-based school refusal, offering sessions from one to five hours per day based on student needs.

The position is long-term to provide consistency and to help break down barriers to learning, with opportunities to work during or after school hours and part-time or full-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• A teaching qualification.
• Experience of working with students with EHCPs.
• Ability to plan and deliver Maths and English sessions.
• A passion for making a difference to the lives of young people.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths and English to students who cannot attend education, 1:1 or in small groups.
• Deliver sessions for 1–5 hours per day, during or after school hours as required.
• Support SEMH students to overcome barriers to learning.
• Attend mock CPD and engage with ongoing professional development.

£30 per hour (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

The Role

Vision for Education are looking for a SEMH Tutor who can teach Maths & English to students unable to attend education in Stockport. The desired SEMH Tutor will be working 1:1 with students with social emotional and mental health needs and emotional based school refusal. The Tutor role is long term to provide consistency for students and work towards breaking down barriers to learning. Sessions can be one - five hours per day (during or after school hours) depending on the student's needs.
