Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting an SEMH Tutor to provide face-to-face, 1:1 tuition for students with SEND and SEMH needs in Middlesbrough. The role is long‑term, aiming to build confidence and remove barriers to learning while you work closely with school staff.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS or QTLS and have experience with EHCPs, SEND, SEMH, and ASD. You will join a supportive team with flexible hours and dedicated consultant support.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS or QTLS.
• Experience supporting students with EHCPs.
• Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD and SLD.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition to students with SEND/SEMH.
• Support students to overcome barriers to learning in a long‑term role.
• Collaborate with LA and school teams to plan targeted interventions.
• Maintain consistency and attendance across placements.

SEMH Tutor: Middlesbrough, £25-£30 per hour(salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and Role

The LA are looking for an experienced Teacher to provide face to face tuition to students who are out of a mainstream setting. The desired SEMH Tutor will be working 1:1 with students with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and ASD.

The SEMH Tutor role is long term to provide consistency for students and work towards breaking down barriers to learning and to give the student the confidence to reach their full potential.

Requirements

• A professional Teaching Qualification (QTS / QTLS)
• Experience of working with young people with EHCPs
• Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or other Additional Educational Needs
• A passion for making a difference to the lives of young people.
