Job summary

Vision for Education are recruiting a SEMH Tutor to deliver Maths and English to students unable to attend traditional education in Bury. The role is 1:1, with sessions ranging from one to five hours daily, and is long-term to build consistency and remove barriers to learning.

Applicants should have a teaching qualification and experience with EHCPs, with a passion for helping young people succeed. This post offers excellent PAYE rates, guaranteed pay (subject to availability), and CPD support.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification required.
• Experience of working with EHCPs is desirable.
• Ability to plan and deliver Maths and English sessions.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths and English to SEMH students on a 1:1 basis in Bury.
• Deliver sessions 1–5 hours per day depending on student needs.
• Support students to overcome barriers to learning.
• Collaborate with school staff as required.

The Role

Vision for Education are looking for a SEMH Tutor who can teach Maths & English to students unable to attend education in Bury. The desired SEMH Tutor will be working 1:1 with students with social emotional and mental health needs and emotional based school refusal. The Tutor role is long term to provide consistency for students and work towards breaking down barriers to learning. Sessions can be one - five hours per day (during or after school hours) depending on the student's needs.

Requirements

The desired SEMH Tutor will have:

• A teaching qualification
• Experience of working with students with EHCPs
• An ability to plan and deliver Maths and English sessions
• A passion for making a difference to the lives of young people
