Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a Barnoldswick AP from October. You will work 1:1 and in small nurture groups with pupils who have SEMH, ADHD, ASC, and challenging behaviour.

With Level 2/3 TA qualification or transferrable experience, you will support lesson delivery, de-escalation strategies, and EHCP target tracking, while benefiting from CPD and potential permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH, SEND or in PRUs/APs/residential care.
• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent transferrable experience.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 and in small nurture groups with SEMH, ADHD, ASC and challenging behaviour.
• Assist lead teachers with classroom delivery, practical workshops and outdoor activities.
• Apply positive de-escalation strategies to maintain calm learning routines.
• Mentor pupils to build self-esteem and emotional regulation.
• Assist with EHCP target tracking and learning plans.
